Keeping it real

Guess what!!??

Things aren't always sunshine and roses around here.  Today has been one of THOSE days.

Between Sadie going through a stage of separation anxiety and Cole going through a super-whiny-and-whimpering stage I am exhausted...this is why we only have two children.  I spent a majority of my morning trying to get a very weepy Sadie excited about a 2 hour afternoon at preschool and redirecting Cole for the 500 kazillionth to "tell me again using his big boy voice."  At 4 o'clock this evening I finally got to folding my 3 loads of laundry that had been dumped on the bed, the dishwasher loaded and the bills paid.

Some days I just want to sit in the corner, cry and pray that Dr. Pepper would come and rescue me.  I would just like to say that I am so thankful that tomorrow is a new day...

How do you like your chocolate???

Those that know me well, know that I love me some chocolate... with a Dr. Pepper on the side, of course.  It is truly my guilty pleasure. Chocolate may even be my love language.  Maybe Gary Chapman needs to add an extra chapter to his book for me.  :)  Anyway... I used to be a lover of all things milk chocolate... I especially loved Milk Chocolate Bliss Squares.  Heaven in a wrapper.

Something weird has been happening to me lately, though... maybe it has to do with me becoming more grown up... I mean, I am just a few months shy of 30... maybe my taste buds are just maturing a few weeks before the big day.... for-whatever-reason I recently made the switch from milk chocolate to dark chocolate (something I never thought I would do).  My chocolate change of heart happened overnight (imagine that, a girl changing her mind overnight... we'll leave that for another post).    Come to find out, Dark Chocolate Bliss Squares are my new heaven in a wrapper.  Who knew???

So, what do you prefer, milk or dark???

Middle names are funny...

Tonight at supper Eric had this great idea for all of us to call each other by our middle names... so, we had a Marie, a Noel and two William's.  Having two people with the same name became difficult, so we decided to shorten Cole's name to Bill... I couldn't help but laugh myself silly calling my two year old son, Bill.  I mean, seriously, does this little face look like a Bill to you???

Never throw a ball over the house... EVER.

I don't have a whole lot of "naughty" childhood stories to share... I was pretty compliant, Brady and I didn't have too many squabbles (however, I did break his arm once), I didn't have any sisters to steal my underwear or traumatize me for the rest of my life... I guess you could say that I had a kinda boring childhood. There is one story I do recall though...

Brady and I must have been about 5 and 7... I was the oldest, therefore the wisest (Still am. Oh, and I'm the prettiest, too!). We were playing outside with a ball when one of us came up with the brilliant idea to see who could throw the ball over the roof into the back yard. Being the wisest, prettiest and SMARTEST of the two, I suggested that Brady try this first. He gave it a try, alright... the ball didn't quite make it over the roof... instead, it made it to the window. You can imagine the rest of the story from here. :)

Had a flashback of this event last week as Sadie was playing with one of our little friends, Hunter. She suggested they try to throw a ball over the house to which I replied... "Oh Sadie, we never throw a ball over the house... EVER."

HIGH/low

it's a high/low bloggy day... the great things going on these days AND the not so great... we'll start low so we can end on a happy note!

low:
-eric started puking tonight... isn't that lovely? i haven't been within 12 feet of him for the last 5 hours. i'm a terrible nurse (seriously). pray his recovery is quick and that the lord places his protection around the rest of our tummies.
-my baby boy is going to be fitted for a cranial helmet to reshape his head from the side he's favored in his sleep... more to come on this.
-my grandpa's health is declining... it makes me very sad and concerned for so many i love.

HIGH:
-the lord has gone a head of us for cole's helmet. he is providing the money we need for this expense... confirmation that this is what we are to do. we are so grateful for the children's charities that have supported us and for some very gracious families that have given out of love.
-i enjoyed some good time to myself tonight... maybe it will recharge me to be a better nurse tomorrow!?
-i paid bills tonight and it didn't even make me grouchy... that may be a first.
-both of my children went to bed tonight without a hassle!
-i serve with some amazing women in mops... i'm going to be at a meeting in the morning and i know the mops meeting is entrusted to some very reliable women (i love you, girls!).

hope you're having a great week!
