Menu Plan - Must Restock

*Sigh*

Well, I hadn't intended on taking a break from blogging last week, it just kinda happened. We did a little traveling last week and our trip was cut short by the stomach flu. I started feeling terrible at the end of the week and we ended up heading home so I could be in my own bed with my own bathroom... there's something therapeutic about being in your own home. I am on day number 3 of feeling crumby... but so far, no one else has come down with the ickyness. Eric has done a great job taking care of me and keeping the children alive and well while I've just laid around with my sad face.

Here's something to make us smile, though! There's nothing like a friendly game of preschool chess...

So... it's Sunday, and it's Menu Day! Quite frankly I am ready for a new start and a new week! I am also hungry... but my tummy hasn't jumped on board with that yet... at least it was easy to pick out what sounded good for the week! :)

This is going to be an expensive week at the grocery store! Not only is our pantry bare, but I also need household items... shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent AND fabric softener... oh, happy day... I'm afraid I'll go over budget this week on groceries... will have to tighten up next week.

*Double Sigh*

Sickness Central... this is Kristen and I'll be your nurse!

Well, you all know how much I LOVE being a nurse... sorry to report I've had some good practice in nursing this week.

Cole started coughing and running a fever last Sunday morning, so I stayed home from church so he could get some good rest. He slept most of the day and wasn't too in to eating. He went to bed at his normal time and when Eric and I checked him before going to bed his breathing was increased. He was taking 50 breaths per minute... long story short, by the time I left with him for the emergency room, he was taking 62 breaths a minute. They admitted him to the hospital early Monday morning. His tests came back positive for RSV, pneumonia and brochiolitis. While we were in the hospital they gave him breathing treatments and suctioned mucous out of his little nose/lungs with a tube. We were released to bring him home on Wednesday.

Within an hour of getting home from the hospital, Sadie began coughing so hard that she threw up. Lovely. She seemed to be better the rest of Wednesday evening and most of the day Thursday until she did the same thing at supper time. Nothing like someone puking at the dinner table. This morning she woke with a fever and did the whole coughing bit again... I must say, I never thought that I could handle puke, but I'm passing this test with flying colors and haven't even gagged once. Ended up taking Little Missy to the doctor this afternoon and she has strep throat. Neat, huh!?

All I can say is that it's a good thing that we only have two kids. I might go crazy on round three. :)

So... there's my week in a nutshell... and why you haven't heard from me until now. :) I better get going... I'm sure it's time for some body's dose of Amoxicillin.
